Chainlink is the blockchain oracle leader with 67% of the oracle market share.

1- Category

ChainLink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chain link oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.

2- Use case

Blockchain oracle is a way to pull data from available APIs and serve accurate data to smart contracts. the technology is a relatively strong market fit, it is solving a practical engineering problem in blockchain systems. It means that demand is coming from business clients and it is sustainable demand.

ChainLink is a different use case, it’s not a meme coin and it’s not a cryptocurrency with a store of value narrative.
