Summary
VeChain evolved from supply chain management to sustainability, now they aim to empower individuals to engage with sustainability in their daily lives by providing tools and platforms that enable informed, impact-full decisions. Their focus areas include access to healthy food, clean water, and fresh air.
VeChain can connect two different worlds : institutional efficiency and individuals action, be used by businesses and people. ESG reporting is very important specially when customers and/or investors(?) are aware and conscious.
VeChain can launch a carbon or co2 crypto, i wonder if this can work? something similar to the defunct CHICAGO CLIMATE EXCHANGE. VeChain probably deserve more exposure than some memecoins, or should VeChain launch something like pepeClimate or shibaClimate?
with a capped supply and a dual-token economic model, VET is designed as a store of value and a speculative asset. Allocating no more than 1% of an entire crypto portfolio is probably the right thing to do, depending on the size of your portfolio.
1- Category
The Vechain platform uses distributed ledger technology to create a tamper-proof and transparent way to store data. Combining this technology with smart contracts that can interact with the data without the need for a third party, and IoT technology that can be used to collect and display data, vechain has enabled solutions across a wide array of fields. VET serves as the primary currency of the vechain ecosystem and is used to pay for goods and services.
2- Enterprise use cases
VeChain is good for data tracking, data exchange, data transfer,… it is used in many industries such as :
- authentication system through digital certificate: luxury goods,
- tracking and sharing of vehicle data : automotive industry,
- traceabiity system : food safety,
VeChain provide two platforms where companies can go to integrate VeChain:
- supply chain management: VeChain ToolChain.
- sustainability: vebetter offers a unified infrastructure where behavioral incentives, transparent data, and user rewards converge to support builders of all sizes in delivering meaningful experiences.

3- Utility
VET is the native token of the VeChainThor blockchain, used for :
- Medium of exchange : facilitates value transfer within the network,
- store of value : acts as a digital asset that can appreciate or depreciate in value,
- utility token : enables access to various features and services on the VeChainThor blockchain.
- governance mechanism : VET holders can participate in network governance decisions.
4- Market capitalization
According to coinmarketcap.com as of April 14, 2026 VeChain rank 76 with a market capitalization of US$ 603,090,207.
5- Economic model
5-A- Dual-token model
VeChain implemented a dual-token model :
- VeChain token (VET) : Serves as a value-transfer medium (utility token),
- VeThor token (VTHO) : Represents the cost of using VeChainThor blockchain resources (transaction /gas token)
this unique two-token design effectively separates the cost of using the blockchain from market speculation.
5-B- Tokens relationship in the VeChain ecosystem
5-B-a- VTHO :
everyone would think that staking more VET will generate more VTHO, no, it’s not the case here. At some point as more VET is staked, the rate of VTHO generation per additional staked VET decreases. This design helps maintain economic balance by preventing excessive VTHO inflation while still rewarding network participation through staking.
5-B-b- B3TR :
is the incentive token for sustainability applications, tokens can be redeemed for different benefits within the ecosystem. B3TR back VOT3 tokens 1:1.
5-B-c- VOT3 :
is the governance token of vebetter, it is convertible, 1:1 between B3TR and VOT3,
5-B-d- Utility
| Token | ecosystem | Utility | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| VET | VeChain | transfer | staking to generate VTHO |
| VTHO | VeChain | Gas token | |
| B3TR | VeChain/VeBetter | incentive token | cashback for staking (www.greencart.vet) |
| VOT3 | VeChain/VeBetter | Governance token |
5-B-e- Supply
| Token | Supply cap |
|---|---|
| VET | 87 B |
| VTHO | NO |
| B3TR | 1 B |
| VOT3 | 1 B |

7-F- Staking - Validators
validators are network participants that run the VeChainThor clients to validate transactions, produce blocks, take part in the consensus process and earn rewards for their contributions. They are required to stake 25,000,000 VETs as collateral.
8- Explorer
VeChain has the following explorers :
vechain stats is the leading blockchain data analytics platform on the VeChainThor Blockchain. VeChain Stats provides the community and ecosystem an advanced data analytics platform and block explorer with real-time information regarding on-chain metrics over transactions, tokens, NFTs and more.
9- VeChain ups and downs
SupplyVeChain is not an inflationary cryptocurrency, the total supply is capped and the issuance of new tokens through minting is basically not possible.
The focus here should be on staking and not on minting, its the staking that can:
- reduce the circulating supply, pushing the price up,
- increase the circulating supply, pushing the price down,…..
Data from: VeChainstats and stargate app
| VET | % | |
|---|---|---|
| Circulating supply | 72 866 885 546 | 83.15 % |
| Validators - Staking | 6 500 000 000 | 7.42 % |
| Delegators - Staking | 5 900 000 000 | 6.73 % |
| Undelegated - Staking | 1 640 000 000 | 1.87 % |
| Burned | 727 593 289 | 0,83 % |
| total | 87 634 478 835 | 100,00 % |
10- Why VeChain go down ?
10-A- Unstaking
when holders unstake their VET they increase VET circulating supply, by doing so they can push the price down.
10-A-a- Unstaking - Delegators
VeChain delegators can stake between 10,000VET and 15,000,000 VET, if delegators find better alternative, they will not renew their VET staking, by doing so they will increase VET supply and can push VET price down.
10-A-b- Unstaking - Validators
if validators start quitting the VeChain validators program, they will unstake their 25M VET (or more) . This can increase VET circulating supply and push the price down.
10-B- Unstaking : Exchanges
if an exchange delist VET as a token stakable in its platform, it force its users to unstake their VET, and decrease VET exposure to new users interested in staking VET. And this can increase VET circulating supply, pushing the price down.
List of possible other reasons VET price can go down:
| Stakeholder | How they can push the price down? |
|---|---|
| Community | start taking profit, selling their VeChain position |
| individual and organizations developers | find an alternative, no longer interested in integrating VeChain in their platforms |
| Social media influencer | Start criticizing VeChain |
| Asset managers | unable or not interested in launching a VeChain ETF. |
11- Why VeChain go up ?
11-A- Public opinion
People living in polluted cities like Delhi in India or Santiago de Chile will quickly recognize the problem and prioritize sustainability. otherwise sustainability is subject to a lot of debate, many don't recognize climate change effects and are against the reduction of fossil fuel production for example. A fast and visible acceleration of climate change effects can make sustainability a priority and boost VeChain as a platform for development of sustainability dApps.
11-B- Reward dApp :VeBetter
VeChain ecosystem is globaly a multi token economic model, it start with VET and VTHO. and can be extended to the sustainability application (VeBetter)tokens : B3TR and VOT3.
| Token | Stakeholder | what they want |
|---|---|---|
| VET | staker | priority fee |
| VTHO | dApps | pay for transaction |
| B3TR | users | free rewards |
| VOT3 | holders | voting power |
As more people use VeBetter dAps and earn B3TR, they’ll be making transactions on VeChain (which uses $VTHO for gas). More usage means more VTHO burned and more demand for $VET (since VET generates VTHO and represents a user’ stake in the overall network). In this way, VeBetter drives activity that benefits the entire VeChain ecosystem.
in theory,
- VOT3 holders can reduce circulating B3TR,
- users will than try to get B3TR rewards by using VeBetter apps,
- dApps developers will than need to buy VTHO,
- validators and delegators will than stake their VET,
This is probably too much simplification of the process, but basically this is how the 4 tokens are linked.
11-C- Staking
11-C-a- Staking: Stargate
Stargate when holders stake their VET they decrease VET circulating supply, by doing so they can push the price up.
11-C-b- Staking - Delegators
[ app.stargate.vechain.org ] VeChain delegators can stake between 10,000VET and 15,000,000 VET, this reduce circulating supply for very short duration or medium duration if renewed.
11-C-c- Staking - Validators
[ app.stargate.vechain.org ] if VeChain attract more validators, they will be required to stake 25M VETs as collateral. This can reduce VET circulating supply and push the price up.
11-C-d- Staking : Exchanges
when an exchange add VET to the list of token stakable in its platform, it increase VET exposure to users interested in staking. And more staking by new users from new exchange can reduce VET circulating supply, pushing the price up.
List of possible other reasons the price can go up:
| Stakeholder | How they can push the price up? |
|---|---|
| Asset managers | launch new VeChain ETF. |
| Community | Mobilize for more VeChain purchase |
| individual and organizations developers | more interested in integrating VeChain in their platforms |
| Social media influencer | Promote VeChain |
