This post is exploring possible theoretical asset allocation for a trading beginner. the question is: how to allocate fund in a portfolio for 3 years and at same time solve some problems or reduce some risks.
What is risk for an individual is different from how an institutional think about risk, many people including traders wants to move abroad not because they want to, but because there is a danger or a problem!!?? maybe a systemic problem, maybe a problem they can not solve alone in their life time, and they want to migrate to get rid of that problem.
Many are speculating about the 3th world war, and war pairs such as nato/Russia, South Korea/North Korea, Taiwan/China,... who knows for the others. once the American golden dome is finished and operational by 2029, the United States will have the cards and will probably do more to help Ukraine get Russia out of Crimea and Dombas. if this happens, Russia with no doubt will launch a nuclear strike, Germany as target will trigger a wave of terror and migration from places such as Italy, Switzerland, Monaco,...where those people can go?
Many around the world are struggling to survive even in time of peace, a 3th world war will increase their chance of death or at least they will get more trauma: starvation, homelessness, PTSD,... so we hope for a peaceful conflict resolution because we have enough problems in the world without the war.
Answering questions such as:
- where can i go?
- is it safe there?
- How much do i need to invest to go there?
- What type of assets can i invest in to get a visa?
- How to design a trading portfolio that can help you obtain a defined visa?
For a beginner of course it is about knowing the minimum investment with which they can move, an initial research show that one can in theory move to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania,... if Europe is the continent of choice.
otherwise Ecuador is the most affordable and relatively safe place where one can move with a USD 48,200 investment only. one will need to learn Spanish, which is a useful language in America and that is it.
The more money you have, the more doors will open to you. Becoming a citizen is the path to reality (or hell), being (a temporary) tourist gives the illusion of paradise.

1- Cryptocurrencies
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation |
|---|---|---|---|
| El Salvador | freedom passport | BTC or tether | 1,000,000 |
The idea of a crypto trader or investor being able to get a second passport is well portrayed by El Salvador freedom passport that allow Bitcoin and tether holders to get a second citizenship. it is apparently the only country offering such opportunity for crypto holders.
But what about the other assets? can a stocks portfolio give access to a temporary residency, permanent residency or citizenship?
2- Stocks
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paraguay | investor pass | stocks | 200,000 |
| Kazakhstan | residence permit | stocks | 300,000 |
| Italy | investor visa | one company | 590,000 |
| Hong Kong | New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme | Stocks | 3,900,000 |
| New Zealand | active investor plus visa | stocks | 6,000,000 |
Paraguay
You will need to invest USD 200,000 at least in Paraguay stock exchange, which is complicated because not everyone speaks Spanish, and it is not well documented market, you will probably need at least 6 focused months to learn some basic Spanish and get an idea about Paraguay stocks.
Kazakhstan
You will need to invest USD 300,000 at least in Kazakhstan stock exchange, the language problem here is worse than Paraguay, at least spanish is spoken in America. but kazakh is a very local language, while Russian is the language of a country at war. basicaly it is the place where a Russian speaking crypto or stocks trader and investor will go and will not need to learn an other foreign language.
Italy
You will need to invest around USD 600,000 in a listed Italian company, this is not stocks trading at all, it is a significant investment in one company, you need to know what you are doing (expert). one can have a nice time learning Italian accent, but a possible 3th world war scenario will turn the country into a nightmare, so i do not think it's the place to be by 2030.
Hong Kong
Located 300 miles from Xiamen, the closest city to Taiwan, it a good place to be, that is why the price is high, around USD 4M investment in listed equities. the place is out of reach for low income people or small trader and can be a good fit for successful investor whom started their careers in the 1990s and want to retire now.
The problem is that China could be sanctioned like Russia if China decide to invade Taiwan, so one can basically go to Hong Kong only if all his assets or funds are in the eastern block or china friendly countries.
New Zealand
Probably the most beautiful country in the world, it is practically impossible to go there unless you are deep pocketed, ultra rich individual,....bla bla bla. it's an island economy, relatively safe. English is the official language which allow close to instant integration for an english speaker.
who can allocate USD 6M to New Zealand stocks, very few, the country is branded as a dream, for those who like to dream!!
3- Bonds
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation | Net Worth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ecuador | investor visa | bank CD | 48,200 | |
| Sri Lanka | Investor Visa | Bonds | 100,000 | |
| Thailand | Long term residents visa | Bonds | 280,000 | 500,000 |
| Turkey | citizenship | bonds | 500,000 | |
| Italy | investor visa | Bonds | 590,000 |
Bonds are bonds and i would not comment about the possible allocation in bonds in a beginner trader portfolio, it's a macro analysis about inflation and interest rate that can be complex and sophisticated, it also can turn boring and less profitable than crypto and stocks.
Ecuador
For Ecuador you have the choice between a bank CD and a house, and a house is probably a better choice because it is a place you can start something.
Sri Lanka
the next affordable bonds investment that will give access to a visa is priced at 100,000 in Sri Lanka. if you decide to allocate 10% of your portfolio to Sri Lanka bonds, it means that you need to have a USD 1M trading and/or investment position, very complicated to get into for a trading beginner.

4- Real estate
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation | |

| Bosnia and Herzegovina | temporary residence | real estate | no minimum | |
| Albania | use of immovible property (D) | real estate | no minimum | |
| Uruguay | real estate | not defined | ||
| Cambodia | cm2h | real estate | not defined | |
| Ecuador | investor visa | real estate | 48,200 | |
| Honduras | real estate | 50,000 | ||
| Tanzania | real estate | 100,000 | ||

| Mexico | visa de Residencia Temporal Inversionistas | real estate | 280,000 | |
| Greece | golden visa | real estate | 295,000 | |
| Panama | real estate | 300,000 | ||
| Saint Lucia | real estate | 300,000 | ||
| Turks and Caicos | real estate | 300,000 | ||
| Saint kitts and nevis | real estate | 325,000 | ||
| Turkey | real estate | 400,000 | ||
| Malta | real estate | 442,500 | ||
| UAE | real estate | 540,000 | ||
| Anguilla | real estate | 750,000 | ||
| Bahamas | real estate | 1,000,000 | ||
| Cayman islands | real estate | 1,200,000 | ||
| Samoa | real estate | 1,500,000 1,000,000 | ||
| Channel island Jersey & guernsey | real estate | 2,380,000 | ||
| Bermuda | real estate | 2,500,000 |
As a housing solution (not an investment) for an expat, there is practicaly nothing to analyze here, it is a house and that is it. but i personally will not buy a house in Istanbul, the bosphorus canal there is a passage for warships and submarines, it is a hot place.
the UAE was a good place to be and could be a good place to be in the future, but for now it is a risky zone, unless you like watching Iranian fireworks from your window.
5- Funds
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation | Net Worth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hungary | guest investor | funds, not publicly traded | 295,000 | |
| Cyprus | investors permanent residence | Funds, | 354,000 | |
| Turkey | citizenship | funds, capital investment | 500,000 | |
| Portugal | funds, vc, private equity | 590,000 | ||
| Bulgaria | Funds, approved funds | 604,160 | ||
| Canada Quebec | investor | shares | 876,000 | 1,460,000 |
| Estonia | Funds, | 1,180,000 | ||
| Luxembourg | titre sejour investisseur | Funds | 3,540,000 | |
| Singapore | Funds, approved fund | 158,000,000 |
The word is (strategic!), Funds are basically not liquid, so it is the cash that you do not need for more than 3 years at least, it is basically out of scope for a trading beginner. the same thing apply to VC and Private equity funds bellow.
6- VC and Private equity Funds
| Country | Name | Asset Category | Allocation | Net Worth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Turkey | citizenship | funds, capital investment | 500,000 | |
| Portugal | funds, vc, private equity | 590,000 |
