Summary
Dash positioning is simple : to be a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, an alternative to fiat and stablecoins. Dash also has its arguments and idea like : Dash-to-Anything, As an alternative to USD-to-Anything, it is an interesting idea, i mean the actual global measure of value is the USD.
Dash-to-Anything here include the USD, Dash seek to be the pivot for paying anything. What makes DASH interesting is something else, it’s privacy. Dash provide a masternode managed, decentralized Coinjoin service for creating an on-demand system of removing the history from coins on the network.
The PrivateSend obscures the source of funds in order to maintain financial privacy between users. It can be turned on or off at the users discretion.
As a trading beginner you will trade a privacy crypto that enables anonymous transactions within the network !
Dash has a real-world applications for its users, Allocating no more than 1 % of an entire crypto portfolio is probably the right thing to do, depending on the size of your portfolio.
Clarification
To avoid some naming confusion, it is good to know that Dash was initially launched as Xcoin and then rebranded to Darkcoin and finanlly Dash.
1- Category
Dash is an open source peer-to-peer cryptocurrency with a strong focus on the payments industry. Dash offers a form of money that is portable, inexpensive, divisible and fast. It can be spent securely both online and in person with minimal transaction fees.
Dash core is a fork of bitcoin core, it is a Proof of Work network, and similar to bitcoin, Dash has a mining network but uses a different block hashing algorithm.
Using crypto mixing, the PrivateSend feature makes it a privacy cryptocurrency that can provide financial privacy between users.

when you take a look at DASH partnerships, yes they have a lot of integrations, their idea is probably to integrate all interesting APIs to facilitate payment, well how many APIs are out there ? This is a years long backlog.
If they are dreaming about eliminating USD and EUR ? I do not think so. Through the exchange rate, they are trying to become the pivot currency for anything.
Their real competitors are probably other payment processors such as VISA and MASTERCARD.
4- Competition – Privacy
as a payment privacy solution, Dash is in competition with other provacy coins such as :
